Avoid stimulants and physiologically stressful substances such as caffeine, diet pills, alcohol, cigarettes, etc.
Eliminate junk/processed food, artificial sweeteners, trans fats, anything with chemical ingredients.
Eat whole, unprocessed foods; choose as many organics as possible.
Eat plenty of sea vegetables (hijiki, wakame, arame, dulse, nori, kombu), the most ideal form of iodine supplementation. They are loaded with many other beneficial nutrients.
Eat more proteins, especially amino acids. Consume lean meats, poultry, and plenty of fish. Avoid carbohydrates (bread and pasta), refined sugars, all dairy, grains (primarily wheat, corn) to ensure weight loss and efficient metabolism.
If you have allergies, avoid allergens (common allergens: wheat and dairy).
Eat six small meals a day instead of three to help boost your metabolism and burn fat
Avoid making big decisions or spending money when stressed.
Do something physical when you feel anxious or you crave a pleasure-releasing substance (alcohol, tobacco, sugar).
Minimize stress. Even “good stress,” such as celebration, can sometimes be excessive for the adrenals. Learn to avoid negative emotions such as fear (e.g. horror movies), anger, etc. Intense physical exercise is a great antidote to stress.
Use an infrared sauna to help your body combat infections and detoxify from petrochemicals, metals, PCBs, pesticides, mercury.
Get as much sleep as possible and on a regular schedule. Excessive work, exercise, and sleep deprivation stresses the adrenals.
Look for opportunities to experience security, joy, and optimism.
Make lifestyle changes gradually, rather than trying to handle everything at once.
